| Customer Reviews: DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT February 7, 2010 Ckrspanl (Pennsylvania) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
For the past 5 years, I have sworn by this magazine. I plan Fido-friendly trips around it, use their valuable advice and up-to-date information on where to stay, what to do, must sees and must do's, all with my four-legged BFF by my side. I love how this magazine has expanded and grown over the years and highly recommend it. Besides the plethora of travel information, they feature dog fashions, health, wellness, advice, and cutting-edge writing. Thanks for a superb publication. I highly recommend it. Five paws up!
Fido Friendly is NOT "fido friendly" April 27, 2009 dog freak (seattle, wa) 8 out of 13 found this review helpful
I always look at any dog magazine I can find, and got an issue of Fido Friendly to check it out. At first I thought it was cool, just leafing through it. But then I actually read some of the articles; articles which condoned pinch collars (they said they are "very gentle" which is absolutely not true, their purpose is to PINCH the dog), condoned squirting a dog in the face with lemon or vinegar water (could cause damage to eyes, not to mention arouse fear and anger in dog), condoned yanking a dog away from approaching dog who may be asssertive or merely just overtly friendly (instead of just doing a u-turn and walking calmly away OR treating your dog as another dog approaches to signal that dogs are bringers of "good things")....I stopped reading there. The editors should read a book or three by Patricia McConnell, Jean Donaldson, or Karen Pryor. POSITIVE training and behavior modification has not only been PROVEN time and again to be the most effective and reliable way to change a dog's behavior, but it is also humane and takes into consideration the dog's mental, physical and emotional health, UNLIKE punishment based training. People, get a clue. Try on a pinch collar yourself and yank on it. Have someone squirt your face with lemon water next time you do something they think is "bad". If YOU don't like it, neither will your dog! If you think punishment is the way to go then don't have a pet, or a child or a relationship for that matter. In any case I will not read or recommend this magazine again unless they actually live up to their name, Fido FRIENDLY.

Fido Friendly Magazine has been another favorite magazine that I've been a subscriber to for years! I LOVE this magazine and that it focuses on traveling with your pet! I have found many places to stay and things to do just by reading this magazine. The dogs are also very thankful for Fido Friendly! Keep up the great research for dog friendly areas, travel tips, discounts, dog parks, and whatever else you can find to keep all dog parents informed!
